Day students arrive each morning to campus between 8-8:30 for their daily classes and activities and depart at the end of the day (exact time to be communicated directly to families as it depends on which program they are in). CDE and Minnows students attend the program 5 days per week (Monday - Friday), MSP and HSP students attend 7 days per week. Lunch and snacks are included in tuition. Boarding students spend days and nights on-campus. All meals and accommodations in our dormitories are included in the tuition.
 

Minnows and CDE students will attend classes, sports, and activities throughout the morning, and after lunch, they take part in activities focused on the arts and music. They will have excursions during the week. MSP and HSP students will attend their classes for roughly 4 hours each morning, and in the afternoon they will take part in sports and activities. Evenings are for cultural events, musical and creative performances, and special games. Weekends are for travel when students will take part in day trips over overnight excursions (at an extra cost).

Day students should arrive to campus on the published first day of the program to attend the Opening Day registration (see the dates for each session on this page here). Day students can depart campus after the final presentation and musical celebration Friday afternoon (the day before the published last day of the program).

If a student is arriving alone (without a parent or other responsible adult) he or she will be picked up at the airport by a TASIS staff member. The last published date of the program is the boarding student departure date. 

Each program has specific and age-appropriate rules regarding cell phone use. Exact details will be outlined in the program handbook which will be provided to each family in the Spring.

In addition to the many sports and activities included in the tuition, students in CDE, MSP, and HSP are invited to participate in an optional sport that takes place several times per week, for the duration of the session. Details for sign-up are communicated to families in the spring. Information about the optional sports options is located on our website here. Minnows do not have optional sports offered. 

In addition to the many exciting day trips and excursions included in the tuition, MSP and HSP students can also sign up for optional trips including overnight visits to Rome, Venice, Munich, Interlaken, and more. 

Students attending trips and excursions may want to bring some pocket money to buy souvenirs or treats when they have some free time. Cash can be brought and collected upon arrival to campus or sent ahead of time by credit card or bank transfer. We recommend an average amount of CHF 40–50 per week for children up to 10 years old and CHF 80–100 for the older students. 

Children are roomed with students in their own age group and are housed in separate boys and girls dormitories, with a maximum of four students per bedroom. As TASIS welcomes students from around the world, we do not allow siblings or friends to room together. Part of the TASIS experience is to mix with students from different cultures, which is an enjoyable part of the learning experience.

The Health Center includes three nurses who provide round-the-clock care. The excellent Civico Hospital is 15 minutes from campus and provides emergency care. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns about your child receiving any particular over-the-counter medications.

Boarding students who are not residents of Switzerland are covered by the TASIS Health and Accident Insurance Plan. Swiss residents must provide a copy of their own Health and Accident Insurance.

Day students must provide their own health and accident insurance or, if non-Swiss residents, apply for the TASIS Health and Accident Insurance Plan. The coverage is unlimited, has no deductibles, and is applicable only to illnesses developed during the duration of the session attended. Please note that dental and eye care are not covered.

Yes. Please mark your child’s clothing with the number that is assigned to him or her once accepted into the program. Use an indelible (permanent) laundry marker. At the end of each session, unclaimed items left behind by the students will be given to charity.

CDE and MSP students will have the ability to call home after the first week of the program, and the recommended contact times will be communicated in the program handbook. HSP students will have daily access to their cell phones but will need to respect the no-phones policy in class and during mealtimes. Admission is granted on a rolling basis until programs are full. An acceptance letter will be issued only after all application materials are received and will include instructions for making a deposit of CHF 1500 to guarantee space in the program. Enrollment deposits are not refundable at any time. 

PAYMENT DEADLINES

The balance of tuition is due by May 15. If a student enrolls for either session after this date, the full tuition payment is due within seven days of the date the invoice is received. If a student cancels the program prior to May 15, tuition may be refunded (minus the deposit). Any payment for optional sports or trips may be kept unless the space can be filled by another student.

Boarding student fees include room and board, tuition, daily excursions, books, laundry, and accident/health insurance. Day student fees include tuition, books, daily excursions, and meals. Day students who are not residents of Switzerland can purchase the TASIS Health and Accident Insurance upon request and will be covered during their program. Fees do not cover personal spending money, medical and accident expenses not covered by the health and accident insurance, or personal travel expenses.

Enrollment in the program constitutes a binding offer by law. There is no reduction or refund for absence, withdrawal, or dismissal except in the case of an emergency (medical, visa denial, death, etc.). In such cases, appropriate documentation must be provided to the school.
